Lost has been described as:

1.    1.  Not knowing where you came from 2. Not knowing
where you are at and 3. Not knowing where you are going.

In many of my discussions with others who feel depressed or
confused, individuals in one way or another have described that this is exactly
where they are at emotionally, mentally and even physically. They often feel
this way right before extreme negative thoughts begin to take over their minds
and sometimes before they take harmful actions to themselves and/or others.

It is often during these times of feeling “LOST” that we get
reminded of how “tired” we feel with life. We have great difficulty seeing this
“temporary moment/season” as just that, temporary. Confusion overwhelms our
ability to see beyond this veil of pointless wandering and can ultimately lead
a person to seeking a final solution to a temporary issue. This feeling
(emotion) of being lost continues to dominate our society’s emotional landscape
as so many fuel themselves on fear and anger. That’s no way to live.

There’s no living in the lost. So, the cure is to discover
direction. This process of discovery takes time. It also takes next steps in
the context of relationship. Direction, purpose, and a pathway of Identity
Discovery will help begin clearing up the “unknown.” Lost can be scary. Yet the
journey in the unknown can become one of healthy discovery and direction when walked
with another. If you feel lost, feel free to share with me about your “lost”
and maybe together we can find discover purpose and set healthy direction, one
step at a time.
