Looking at life objectively can often be a challenge, especially when you have “filters” that affect all of your perceptions of understanding. I am no different than you in that I have uniquely developed filters from my intellectual, physical, spiritual, and socio-emotional upbringing. So, when it comes to all topics, I must acknowledge these filters (as they have played a formative part of my personal identity) and approach each new learning opportunity wisely and without quickly judging others’ viewpoints.
Now, when it comes to aliens, I often wonder what it would be like to shake the hand of “a grey” (or green as the case might be) and begin to shoot the breeze about favorite foods and family pics. The original Twilight Zone episode “To Serve Man” presents a line of belief/perception about the intent of alien contact. (You HAVE to watch this one to understand what I mean – no spoiler alert here). Many people have their own opinions about what aliens are. They range from microbial cellular organisms to advanced life forms. While I have personally experienced the “supernatural” (beyond our natural laws of explanation) on occasion, I too have had to sift these experiences through the “filters” from which I grew up with.
For me, I view all angels as aliens. I believe that angels are created beings and not of this earth; therefore, extra terrestrial (i.e. alien). Now, one blog entry will never have enough space to further put down all of my thoughts on aliens. Yet, my curios nature allows for me to read and discuss with others about many topics that peek my interest. So, it is without hesitation that I will begin making myself available once every month to connect with others to discuss this subject of Angels or Aliens. I will “host” a monthly meeting in person (and hopefully virtual as well) to meet with anyone who might have questions, thoughts, or just want to listen to others chat about this topic and learn, laugh, and listen without judgment.
